The charity work we do is driven by intense desire and commitment to strengthening our motherland, the Armenian community and people who need support here in the USA.
Five years ago, during my trip to Armenia, I came across underprivileged families with very poor living conditions. Upon my return to the US, I couldn’t help myself but talk to my friends about what I witnessed in Armenia and how we need to do something to help these families. My idea of forming a foundation was warmly welcomed by my friends, some of whom were fortunate enough to be leaders in the community. They joined forces with me as the board members of our newly formed “Family Rescue Fund”.
FRF bought, leased and furnished apartments in Armenia to give shelter to hundreds of families. During our consequent visits to our motherland, we came across other urgent issues that needed to be resolved. Soon, we started helping school kids in underprivileged areas. We also started providing financial support for the “Homeland Defender’s Rehabilitation Center.”
Family Rescue Fund is also active in the United States of America. Our fundraising events enable the foundation to help community centers that are essential for preserving our Armenian heritage and identity. We support Armenian schools and churches. Our programs also include assistance to medical facilities in America as well as those in need: FRF is one of the longstanding benefactors of the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, and by having joined forces with ARS, we are able to assist Armenians and Americans with their social issues and needs.
We have been able to complete all of the projects mentioned above due to the generous and continued support of our Fund Donors. With our mission in mind, they all have actively participated in our monthly social/cultural fundraisers. Our Galas were also aimed to present our rich cultural heritage, by showcasing our culture, traditions, and emerging young artists. “The Armenian Traditional Attires Fashion Show,” organized in collaboration with Armenia’s Teryan Cultural Center, was one of many successful events the foundation has organized.
Family Rescue Fund has always functioned based on principles of integrity and transparency. In the past 5 years, I can testify to the successful implementation of many projects thanks to the tireless dedication of our members and the support of our donors. A proven track record of success has empowered us to come up with additional strategies and new programs, and we can only keep on going with your support
